Go for Willy (Board-game)
Project:
Go for Willy was a product of a school project in the first year of my education at the Saxion University of Applied Sciences. The game mechanics are based on an existing board game that is called “Goose game”. In the original game the players are controlling gooses that have to walk a dangerous path to finally reach the safe goose enclosure in the middle of the game board.
Story:
The fist idea was to make a game about knights who fight against the evil to get the princess in the end. By the time the game was developed the royal wedding of prince William and Kate was about to take place. It inspired my team to invert our concept and let the girls fight for the prince! Five girls have to compete and succeed all the tasks that a princess should be capable of doing to finally be able to marry the prince of England.
Gameplay:
The “Go for Willy” concept includes more features to make the game more interesting and entertaining. The game board design makes it possible to change meanings of the fields by turning a golden crown in the middle. The game ships with a CD that contains an interactive flash application that includes an introduction story, a wheel of fortune, digital game-rules and a quiz with the English queen, that needs to be completed once the player reaches the last field.
Tasks:
• concept design
• game-board design
• coding (ActionScript 3.0)
